HEY!

No1. Wonton Noodles

Huy made this bowl with mom, and so he's dedicating this first home-cooking post to mom.

Huy grows up eating at street-side noodle carts with pork wontons and he can never forget the heavenly taste of when egg noodles, chasiu, chive flowers, and wontons are soaked in an aromatic pork broth.

So last time mom was in town, we visited the kitchen together to create this bowl of home.

No2. Seafood Fettuccine

This dish is brought to life after Huy was given a precious and fresh jar of jarred tomatoes from his friend Irene Matys aka The Spicy Olive!

Pasta has always been a guilty pleasure that Huy craves and with his love for seafood and some organic jarred tomatoes, things were put together in the kitchen through the lens of Hey, It's Huy!

You'll see the raw beauty of tiger shrimps and scallops before the pan and while they're embraced by the pan heat in this episode.

Irene, this post is dedicated to you.

Beef Moussaka

I first knew about moussaka through a collaboration with a meal delivery brand in Montréal as lamb moussaka was a featured dish on their pre-set menu! I fell in love with the dish immediately as I'm a huge fan of eggplants, like, in all manners. :D

In this episode, this rich & delicious dish is paired with a bottle of red from Masi Canada. The medium intensity cherry red Valpolicella Classico titled Bonacosta was the perfect pairing with the strong cinnamon taste of the beef, the sweetness of the caramelized onions, and the buttery Béchamel!

No4. Veggie Banh Mi

This dish is dedicated to the World Vegetarian Day!

Banh mi is a GIANT part of the Vietnamese cuisine and if you have never had banh mi, we probably need an immediate intervention haha!

Influenced by the French's baguette, banh mi is a shorter and lighter form of baguette - which makes it perfect for filling variety and toppings.

One thing you literally can't not have as a topping is pickled sliced carrots! Read more below!

Spicy Miso Salmon

This dish is dedicated to my auntie living in Osaka, Japan!

If you love salmon as much as I do, then going through this episode is a must.

The episode includes a breakdown of my spicy miso sauce ingredients, however, none of it would have come together without the miso powder from Japan.

And no i'm not talking about miso paste to make the miso soup, but a powder seasoning version! Click through for more details!
